Arabic Immersion Course for Children

UpdateWe commenced with a lovely young group of children from Arabic and non-Arabic backgrounds on Wednesday 2/9/2020. They had a site tour (in Arabic), played ten pin bowling (in Arabic), made their own green turtles (in Arabic) and had a total blast of fun. If you’re interested for your child, reach out to us ASAP!

  • Give your child a head start with our Arabic Immersion Course.
  • Especially designed for your child’s beginner Arabic needs by QUL College, we aim to have most of our instruction delivered in the Arabic language.
  • Immerse your child in an Arabic environment on a weekly basis (two sessions per week).
  • We integrate Quran, Dua and Dhikr into our Arabic Immersion Program so your child develops a more versatile grasp of the Arabic language.
  • As our initial intake this term is geared towards homeschoolers since it’s on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings, we are more than happy to still take your expression of interest for alternate times (after school) for our next intake. We also currently offer a Saturday 12:30pm to 1:30pm Arabic program. Just indicate your preferred alternate times in the comments section in the form below

The Advice – al-Wasiyyah – Poem by Imam Abdullah ibn Alawi al-Haddad taught by Shaykh Ahmed Abdo

My first dowrah (40 day intensive course) in Dar al-Mustafa back in 2005. I would sleep inside the room that would eventually be the same room I would study the Shafi’i fiqh manual Minhaj al-Talibeen of Imam al-Nawawi many years later.

It would be the same room which seemed to have been infested with bed bugs (aka baqq!) which not only would suck your blood, but also not allow you to sleep.

Each morning I would wake up and search for the culprit ‘baqq’ but couldn’t find where they were coming from.

It wasn’t until 40 days later, when I had to roll up my sleeping bag, that I found armies of ‘baqq’ warmly nested in the seams of the sleeping bag and inside the pillow case. I don’t think I had scratched so much and so hard before in my life.

The voice of the dedicated students and teachers who would walk around an hour before fajr waking us students up, with a loud and long ‘laaaaaaaaaa ilaaaaha illallaaaaaaaah….” and for those of us that wouldn’t wake up with that, a simple flick to the air conditioner (aka […]

QUL College Goes Online Due To COVID-19 Arrangements

Announcement to Parents

Assalamu Alaykum. I pray you and your family are well, particularly in this rapidly changing environment as a result of the precautionary measures to slow down the spread of COVID-19.

At QUL College, we have taken this matter with full seriousness, and to reduce any potential risks of this virus spreading amongst our students and in turn their family members, we have taken the decision to continue delivering our classes through online video conferencing.

For Term 2 (including Ramadan), you will need to register here: qulcollege.com/events

When you complete the above registration, choose your preferred class and complete the order for your children. You will be sent the private Zoom link prior to commencement of the class.

You can use either a desktop computer, laptop, or tablet/phone to enter the video meeting. We will continue to use the Zoom platform. We have performed some preliminary testing, and insha Allah hope this will be a helpful means to engage your child with QUL College, whilst not presenting any health risks.

Considering we don’t want your child to be looking at the screen for an extended period of time, we will ensure there are regular breaks in between sessions.

You can prepare by downloading the Zoom app […]

Shaykh Mazen Ahram (from Masjid al-Aqsa, Palestine) Sydney Tour 5-9 March 2020

This event has now ended

I met Shaykh Mazen Ahram from Masjid al-Aqsa on his previous visit to Sydney in 2018. Our Sacred Links group visited the Shaykh in Zawiyah at Masjid al-Aqsa in April 2019. He took us for a breathtaking tour on our night of arrival into Quds, pointing out the most amazing places in Masjid al-Aqsa.

We met him again at Masjid al-Khalil, wherein lies the resting place of Sayyidinā Ibrāhīm alayhissalam.

Now he is visiting Sydney and it’s time to revive the legacy of Masjid al-Aqsa, what it stands for, its place in our Islamic history, and the fact that therein is the ONLY place on terrestrial earth that has a direct opening to the heavens!

Whilst many of us consider and end up going to Umrah, visiting Makkah and Madinah, only few seriously consider Masjid al-Aqsa and its surrounds.

Don’t miss this opportunity to be in the company of a living scholar who was born, raised and educated in the Islamic sciences within the old city of Jerusalem and Masjid al-Aqsa.
